Thanks for your enquiry about parking overnight on The Pleasure Boat Inn car park.
We’re currently experiencing high levels of interest in Motorhome and Campervan pitches on our car park, and have been overwhelmed with people just turning up lately, which has caused some problems, so please read on and then respond to us so that we can confirm a booking. Without our confirmation, there is no reservation, so please do not presume there is.
The car park is the private property of The Pleasure Boat Inn, and is, by day, for patrons of the pub and Norfolk Outdoor Adventures customers, and overnight for our boat berth holders and confirmed Motorhome / Campervan bookings.
We have no cassette or brown water waste facilities, nor electric hookups. The PublicToilets on our car park are operated by North Norfolk District Council, and are open 24 hours. They are not to be used to dispose of waste. There are rubbish facilities towards the Pleasure Boat Staithe on the car park in a compound marked Boat Rubbish. The pubs private commercial bins are not to be used. There is also a bottle bank on site.
The car park does get busy during the day with pub patrons, so we suggest not arriving here for your booking until after 3pm, as it gets quieter then. The best and prettiest place to be (plus you’ll get the sunset!) for you is on the edge of the car park overlooking the moorings, even partly on the grass. Please be aware that berth holders on our private moorings may park their cars adjacent to their moorings, and will probably be there overnight. Obviously we can’t guarantee this position for you, but hopefully our rule of no more than 6 Motorhomes or Campervans on site per night helps that problem. Upon arrival, please book in with our Meet and Greet staff at the entrance to the pub garden, so we know you’re here.
To ensure that pub patrons can find a parking space for lunchtime, please aim to leave us by 11.30am on the day of your departure.
We are this year only offering pitches to those that book a table to eat and drink with us. Food service is 12 to 3pm and 5pm to 7.30pm every day, drinks are served 11.30am to 9pm. Our current service is outside in our lovely garden or marquee only...we expect this to be the case until at least the 21st September, dependent on weather possibly longer. Food is served in a takeaway packaging style currently. The menu is fairly reduced currently, but has served us well since reopening. Food and drink can be taken back to your unit if you wish, if the weather is inclement, for example.
From sometime after the 21st, we will get you back into the pub, but obviously the numbers will be very much reduced and it will be table service only and we would then revert to plated meals - Josh has a great new menu to launch for Autumn as well!! So there are several reasons there that booking a table is absolutely essential.
So assuming you’re happy with the above, we can confirm that we have a pitch available on the day you have requested, and will confirm the reservation once you have sent us the following details:
Contact Number (now legally required for Track and Trace)
Vehicle Registration Number
Table Booking Time and number of persons in the party (Maximum group of 6 people)
Upon receipt of these details we’ll email you back with confirmation as soon as we can…..please bear in mind we are a busy pub, so sometimes we can only get back to you overnight. Please don’t ring us about the booking, as we won’t be able to get to the computer because of working on the bar.
Sorry about all the rules, but we have been in danger of being overwhelmed this year, and, with our determination to operate Covid Securely for both staff and customers, it has been challenging!!
